CCCC: English Offerings

The options for completion below include the minimum number of credit hours a student can expect to receive coupled with the most stringent requirement for universal acceptance. Some institutions may award more credit hours or accept lower AP or IB scores. Students should consult their institution of choice for specific requirements.

Students will receive at least three (3) degree credits for English from the participating institutions by completing one of the following options below:
  1. English International Baccalaureate Exam with a score of 6 or higher
  2. Composition & Literature Advanced Placement Exam with a score of 4 or higher1
  3. Dual Enrollment College Composition I and/or II (VCCS course numbers 111 and 112) with a grade of C or higher
Note: Students attending University of Virginia, College of William & Mary, and Virginia Tech should consult their institution to determine if credit will be awarded for dual enrollment courses in college composition.
